Keemun (Qihong)

Starting at: $2.75

This most famous of China blacks is grown in Qimen county in southern Anhui province. It has an attractive, slender, tightly curled leaf, fine and twisted. With a superb flavor and aroma, Keemum is a low-grown tea that's complex, sweet, fruity, unusually full-bodied, and renowned for a dark red liquor with an orchid- or rose-like fragrance. It makes an excellent "English Breakfast" and is useful for iced tea since it does not cloud easily. Steep at a water temperature just below boiling.
