1st Grade Gyokuro Asahi (Pearl Dew)

Gyokuro means "Pearl Dew."  It is shaded green tea and considered as one of the most outstanding green teas in Japan, giving light green color and depth in its flavor.  Gyokuro has unique sweetness since shade allows the tea to retain a high Theanine content.   Only the finest top buds of the first flush of bushes are used. Everything connected with tending and making the tea is done by hand. Use spring water at 140 F° or below and 2-3 teaspoons of leaves for 12 oz. teapot, steeping 2-3 minutes.
