Ancient Hawaiians considered the 'Ohi'a tree -- the first tree to grow out of a lava flow -- to be sacred.  The Lehua blossom, which blooms in the Big Island's Ohi'a forests in late May and June, is indigenous to Hawaii. Organic Ohia Lehua Blossom single floral honey is harvested in July. The light, thick honey has a distinctive floral nose.  White and green organic tea enthusiasts love this honey!  It is so delicate that it does not overwhelm the taste of the tea, allowing the taste of both the honey and tea to be savored at the same time. It is delicious spread on toast and muffins, and pairs well with many cheeses.  A popular wedding favor in Hawaii, it is an inspired gift for other romantic occasions.
