This green tea is the first to arrive for the 2018 season. It is grown on Dong Shan Feng Mountain in western Hunan, known for their stone “forests,” which belongs to the WuLing Mountain range. "Dong" means east; "shan" is mountain, and "feng" is summit. Soil conditions in this forested area are particularly good for tea, along with mild temperatures year round (mid 50s to mid 60s) and - high humdity (80% +). Roads up to the gardens, in the middle range between 500m to 1500m, are winding with many curves. The adage is that upon arrival at a vista point, the view is that of "10,000 miles of clouds." Elevation of the tea garden is at about 800 meters, not so high when compared to some of Taiwan’s high mountain teas, but nonetheless, the locale enjoys prolonged periods of heavy mists, inspiring the name.

You can see from the infused leaves the very tender quality of the pluckings. Yet for such a delicate pick, the flavor is surprisingly robust, and is a good example of a classic, full flavored Chinese spring green. To say that a green gives rich full satisfying flavor may seem an oxymoron as green teas are usually described as lean or delicate. That’s why when a packet of this green tea is opened, and aroma from the DRY leaves is immediately evident, this is quite remarkable and a marvel. The infused liquor has a classic early spring green character. Use 1 rounded teaspoon (3g) dried tea leaves per 6 ounces of spring water heated to 175° to 185° F. and steep for 3-4 minutes. This tea can handle multiple infusions; add fresh hot water to the pot and increase the steeping time for subsequent infusions, repeating until the flavor begins to fade.
