This blend of China blacks gets its unusual flavor from oil of bergamot, made from the peel of the Canton orange (Citrus aurantium). Our Earl Grey has a China black orange pekoe tea base, and its long-rolled leaves have been sprayed with oil of bergamot, a citrus plant from Sicily. Just the right amount gives you a well-mannered, mild-flavored tea with a very distinctive yet delicate scent. Although popular in England and the United States, this tea is not widely consumed in China or by overseas Chinese. Steep at a water temperature just below boiling.
