Gon Chun was the famous servant of an esteemed Chinese scholar. While his
master meditated and left him for many hours alone, Gon Chun became
fascinated with the Yixing teapots made in the area and taught himself the
craft by watching the local artists. The style of teapot shown above is called a
Gon Chun as he supposedly was the first person who created this
particular design.
