Lotus Seeds and Frog Teapot

Lotus Seeds and Frog Teapot.
The lotus is a symbol of sacred beauty, purity and perfection. This teapot's handle represents the stem of the lotus flower, and a curled lotus leaf forms the spout. The three feet of the teapot are molded as water chestnuts and lotus root. Perched on the lid of this teapot is an intricately detailed frog, regarded as most auspicious and conductive to good fortune. The pot is composed of double-layered clay (both blue and Tan ni white clay) in front with loose seeds in a twice-fired process. It represents a lotus pod with 18 exposed and articulated seeds. In Asian folklore lotus pods are fertility symbols, and "many seeds" implies "many sons." (Price includes free shipping and handling within the continental United States.)
