Made by Tetsu Yamashita in Tosa. He became a second generation Kama maker at age 30 and a traditional craftsman in 2002.
Each whale knifes is made of 2 metals, each with unique characteristics, which when combined using the Yakiire (high-heat and sudden cooling) and Abura-modoshi (low heat and slow air cooling) processes create a very sharp, durable, and strong blade.
