This statue depicts an amazing feat of Krishna at age eight.  While plunging into the river Yamuna to retrieve a ball that had fallen there while in play with his cowherds, unbeknownst to Krishna he had entered into the domain of a giant snake named Kaliya who lived in a dangerous whirlpool.  The snake began to spout poisonous bile while encircling Krishna in his coils beneath the waves.  Krishna's playmates were sorely vexed and just about to jump into the river to assist him when he appeared upon the surface of the water playing his flute and standing on the head of Kaliya.

Brass statue; made in India.
Dimensions:  32" height
