Although the last camel caravan carrying tea for Russia left Peking in 1900, this tea blend remains as popular as ever. This smooth tea is a mixture of Ceylon OP with a touch of Lapsang Souchong which imparts a striking aroma with smoky aftertast  Use 1 rounded teaspoon (3g) dry leaf per 6 ounces of spring water heated to boiling, steeping for 3 minutes.

I DO NOT THINK THE NAME IS MEANT TO MEAN IT'S AN RUSSIAN TEA, THE TEA IS BLENDED TEA BASED ON A SMOKED TEA. THE NAME MEANING ONLY ONE TRAVELING TO RUSSIA BACK IN THE DAY BY CARAVAN, ONE MAY COME ACROSS A TEA VERY MUCH LIKE THIS. IF YOU LIKE PU-RA OR AGED TEA TRY IT. IT IS DIFFERENT. I LIKE IT ON OCCASION.

I love the teas that holy mountain offers but this one is terrible. I am from Russia and this is in no way reminiscent of Russian teas at all. It reeks of old socks and the taste is awful. It took me a few days to get the stench out of my teapot. I would highly advise against this tea.

This is an excellent tea with a very interesting taste. The smell of this tea will remind you of an open campfire and provoke subconscious memories once inhaled; it tastes as it smells, very woodsy, strong and astringent. I recommend this tea, due to the fact it is very different from all teas and tastes like nothing else. This tea can be enjoyed plain or mixed with milk, honey or sugar; I recommend sweetening this tea and using milk due to the strong flavor. This would be a very good cold winter morning tea. Blessings
