Some Jiao Gu Lan is bitter depending on the area of cultivation; ours is naturally sweet, so very little if any sweetener is needed. We have a great source for this herb and tests have shown it to easily pass EU standards.
Use 1 rounded teaspoon (3g) dry leaves for every 6 ounces of spring water heated to 195°-205°F, steeping 3-4 minutes. Add fresh hot water to the pot and increase the water temperature and steeping time slightly for each subsequent infusion. Repeat until the flavor begins to fade.
