Gyokuro means "Pearl Dew." It is shaded green tea and considered as one of the most outstanding green teas in Japan, giving light green color and depth in its flavor. Gyokuro has unique sweetness since shade allows the tea to retain a high Theanine content. Only the finest top buds of the first flush of bushes are used. Everything connected with tending and making this vintage 2023 tea is done by hand. Use fresh spring water heated to a temperature of 140°F or below and 2 to 3 teaspoons of leaves per 12 oz. teapot, steeping 2-3 minutes, and increasing the steeping time for subsequent infusions until the flavor begins to fade.
