Rainflower Green Needle (Yu Hua)

This vintage spring 2023 tea is grown on legendary Rainflower Terrace, a hill south of Nanjing in Jiangsu province.  According to local folklore, it was here that an eloquent monk's speech caused blossoms to fall from the sky, which accounts for the beautifully colored pebbles found at this site. The tea has short pointed medium green leaves that yield a pale golden liquor with complex full flavor and a delightful aftertaste. Best flavor is obtained by heating 6 ounces spring water to 175-185° and using 3g of dry leaves (approximately 1 rounded teaspoon), infusing 3 to 4 minutes.
